Here is a beautiful 51st Annual 'Merrie Monarch Festival 2014 Tee-S
hirt. The Merrie Monarch was David Kalakawa. The Last King of Hawaii. Kalakawa became King upon the Death of King Lunalilo in 1874 and Died in San Francisco in 1891. He was King during the time of the 'Bayonet Constitution' when the power of the King was taken away by Sanford Dole and the Plantation owners. Kalakawa was a Champion of the Hula. His phrase "Hula is the language of the Heart Therefore the Heartbeat of the Hawaiian People" is printed on the back side with his picture.The Front features the Logo of the 2014 Merrie Monarch Festival over a 'Ali'i Royal Cape.
