Cibie/Valeo genuine headlamp, multi-directional, GT40, Zagato, DAF, Renault, OE

Description

Up for sale is a genuine Cibie E-code rectangular, multi-directional headlamp, part number 470 078, new in box, date code 1998.
Lamp features unique lever at the bulb aperture allowing suitable use for either left hand or right hand traffic, "as needed" for legal use.
Lens face displays subtle & symmetrical fluting with various cast in glass markings, "C" logo dead center and dual direction arrows.
NO chips, cracks, scratches or other lens flaws. Reflector's finish extends to the entire 3D inner surface, shiny with no deterioration.
This lamp was seen on a variety of sporting cars such as Ford GT40, Lancia Zagato, Triumph Stag, DAF A series & Renault SG/SM.
Clear annealed crystal glass measures approximately 9" W x 4.75" H ( 229mm x 121mm ) across raised, slightly convex face.
Overall approximate dimensions, exclusive of alignment tabs 9.75" width 5.25" height x 6.75" depth (248mm x 133mm x 172mm)
Tabs to locate and align lamp to housing as well as adjustment screws at 2 o'clock & 8 o'clock intact and undamaged. See photos.
This lamp has been in controlled storage since new, never used or exposed to the elements, apologies only for 20ish years age.
A light rinse with glass cleaner & distilled water (50/50 mix) is recommended, then using compressed air 40-50 PSI to dry internally.
This procedure will not harm the lamp, removes trace evidence of age from the inside of lens/reflector, leaving a brilliant finish.
I prefer Windex to other glass cleaners, knowing what to expect when done. This takes only a few minutes with satisfying results.
Rinse thoroughly with distilled water until all traces of foam are gone. Blow dry until all droplets are gone to prevent spotting.
DO handle lamp with care, being extra cautious over any hard surface (concrete) while using the compressed air, trust me here.
New old stock, with correct & genuine Valeo sticker dated 1998, becoming extremely rare and difficult to source in this condition.
No other parts or pieces or bulb included. Offered as new & shown in photos and text description in OE packaging, no apologies.
