1940 FORD Factory Fog Light MERCURY LINCOLN MADE FOR FORD MOTOR CO BY UNITY MFG

Description

This auction for the the body / head of a 1940 Ford Factory Road Lamp / Fog Light. These Ford Factory Road Lamps were used on 1940 Ford cars and 1940 Ford Trucks + 1940 Mercury and 1940 Lincoln cars.

This fog light body is unique to a 1940 Ford Factory Light because it has unique writing stamped into the metal of the light.

The writing says "MADE FOR FORD MOTOR CO. BY UNITY MFG. CHICAGO U.S.A."

This 40 Ford Fog Light body is offered for repair or parts.

Condition: The chrome is damaged by a prior owner soldering a ground wire on it. If have no idea why anyone would do that, but that is what happened. I removed the solder & wire but the chrome is damaged in that area. It will need to be re-chromed. The light is chromed brass. The MADE FOR FORD writing is stamped into the brass. It's a good candidate for a re-chrome.

The base of the light is pre-war. This base is held on with are only 3 rivets which is correct for Unity pre-war lights. (5 rivets post-war) . The base also has a hole for the square head security stud. Again unique to pre-war Unity fog lights.
